Celebrate America!
In the years since the original 13 states
adopted the Constitution, the nation has celebrated many birthdays.
When all is said and done, the collective "we" have
fared well since the days of our first birthdays. Without question
we've cried as a nation over horrors like the New York and Pentagon
attacks, the Oklahoma bombing and tragedies caused by rivers
overflowing their banks, forest fires, and earthquakes.
But throughout it all the nation has continued
to more forward as it will even with the setback of the terrible
happenings of September 11, 2001. Our diverse populations always
pull together when needed for our country and its freedoms. The
power of the nation is in the spirit of its people, and the people
of the United States have that spirit. As a Japanese admiral
said after the bombing of Pearl Harbor during World War II, "I
fear we have awakened a sleeping dragon."
We at the Apple Learning Interchange suggest
that you and your students to join us today in a Celebration
of America. Sit back and enjoy the sounds, history, visions,
and opinions of our nation.
Think of the great spirit present in a great
nation. Think of the past, the present and the future.
