Welcome to The Playground!

  • Especially for grades kindergarten through six
  • Or ages 5-12
  • And parents, too!

Hello!

I'm Dr. Marsh and I love weekends and special days! Any day can be a special day if you make it that way. Any time can be a wonderful weekend adventure. It depends upon you.

How do I know about great times for kids when I'm not really a kid anymore? I know because I'm a school head, a principal, you might say. I have a simply super time with all my kids. Did I tell you that I have 450 kids now, and of course there are grown-up ones, too, that I could count. That might make a huge number, don't you think? Do you know what I mean? I hope you're smiling and ready for some adventures. We're sure to have great fun.

- Dr. M

Important Note to Parents About Checking Sites, Reading Levels, Finding Sites, . . .

Many of the stories and activities in The Children's Playground provide links to web sites that are outside the Apple Web area. You should be sure to check the sites before visiting them with your children. You'll want to determine:

  • if the site content is appropriate for your children
  • if your children will need your help with the site, and
  • if the link works.

It is not unusual for site content and addresses to change, so checking the site before children visit is always suggested.

Keep in mind that some links are provided because of images, not the text. For example, some of the sites that tell about dogs will have photographs children will enjoy, but the content (concepts and reading level) about dog training, dog feeding, different breeds of dogs, etc. may be too difficult for many children. However, if you travel to these sites with your children, you'll have a wonderful time helping them along the Information Highway.
